To be mismanaged as follows:
The meetings will be held the evening on or near the Full Moon, other than a Saturday. Its place of meeting shall be at any pub, vacant lot, yard, parking structure or premises in the Greater Madison Area at which permission to meet may or may not have been obtained.
Live hare starts are required. Whistles and flashlights are recommended. The Religious Advisor (RA) shall bless the hare(s) and he/she/they will be given a 15 minute head-start prior to the pack departing. The RA or other designated officer will explain the trail marks after the hare(s) have departed. Songs, consumption of beer, and other entertainment will ensue until the pack departs. The RA, or designated hasher, shall signal the pack to depart at the beginning of the run and the conclusion of beer checks. Should a hasher snare the hare, that hasher will assist the hare in setting the rest of the trail. De-panting is optional. Mooning opportunities along the trail are encouraged.
Hash cash will be used for Beer Check beer, snacks, and Down-Downs. Additional beer and food will be pay as Hasher goes.
After the trail run, hashers will form a circle for short Down Down Ceremonies; friendships and camaraderie will ensue at a nearby public eating/drinking establishment.
Attendance will be taken at the start of each run. Anniversary merit awards will be earned for those who actually run/walk/stagger the trail along with doing all the other fun stuff.
The CFMH3 is mislead by a group of hashers known as "Mismanagement". The Grand Mattress (GM) is responsible for scheduling the runs, guiding new hares, and planning special events. The Religious Advisor (RA) is the Keeper of the Faith. This hasher has seen the light and spreads the word to inspire the hares before they depart. The On Sec keeps attendance. Hash Cash is the holder of the purse strings. The BeerMeister(Mistress) provides refreshments and snacks for the hashes. The Webmeister maintains the webpage. Elections are to be held in March, nominations are taken in February. Any member of CFMH3 can (and should) hold a mismanagement position.
Start: This should be at a local drinking establishment- bar/restaurant/pub, (aka beer, inside).
End: Find a place for (brief) Ceremonies. A somewhat secluded area, near the Start bar; we use the bar parking lot if no other alternative exists and the bartender agrees to this arrangement.
Live hare starts: the hare(s) is blessed and takes off 15 minutes before the pack. Some trail may or may not be pre-set. Who cares? Run like the wind.
The length of the trail should be approximately 3 miles. No more than 4 miles, but can be as short as 0.5 miles (think, minus 7 in February).
Plan on one Beer Check. On rare occasions (i.e anniversary hash) there may be more. If the hare decides to have an extra beer or liquor stop, it is at his/her expense. Notify the beermistress/meister as soon as you know your BC location so he/she can plan logistics.
If there is snow, don't use plain white flour (3-holer).
Marks should be laid in a consistent location, especially on snow (i.e. all marks laid down on the left snowbank or along the left side of the sidewalk), even though everyone will run on the road and miss your marks anyway.
Be prepared to use more flour than you would for daylight trails. Lay down more marks than you would for a daylight run. Otherwise be prepared for much whining and an extra down down for you.
Due to experience, and subsequent (major) whining, having a 'back-hare', someone running trail who knows your route, is recommended. Consider running with a cell phone and leaving your number at the Start and with the back hare.
When is the full moon? (Note that the actual full moon date will depend on your time zone.)
