HASH HISTORY - RUN #1543 - MALE BAGGER Hosts the Weight-Out

About 20 hashers showed up in Cottage Grove on St. Patrick's Day for MALE BAGGER's run. Several were decked out in St. Patrick's Day green but SHOW ME, dressed in glitzy green boxer shorts and a shamrock bow tie won the award for the world's tallest leprechaun. The weather was moderate so there was just enough snow melt to make for slushy conditions, but not as bad as MALE BAGGER's previous run about a year ago. The trail started at a shopping mall on the western edge of Cottage Grove and headed around town and into a school parking lot where most of the pack was sent cross country, while those at the back of the pack waited for a shortcut. The shortcutting walkers went just short distance to a beer check in a nearby park to wait for the rest of the pack. Meanwhile, the rest of the pack went a considerable distance across a prairie and though a wooded area where the trail gently curved back toward town and stopped at backcheck. ROAD BEATER and SLOW HAND quickly headed across a muddy corn field to find the trail, but soon disappeared in the distance. The rest of the pack reluctantly followed but no one found the backcheck trail. Eventually everyone gave up and just headed back into town where they found the shortcut marks to the beer check. It was a short distance from there back to the cars and on to MALE BAGGER's house for the On-On and weigh-out. There was plenty of beer and good food and the weight change participants were anxious to get to it. This year's winner was AH SHIT for losing 11.2%, with LIKES IT taking second for losing 9.2% and DRIBS in third place for losing 8.5%. WILL HO, BABY BALLS, MALE BAGGER and MONKEY also got their money back for making the 7% threshold. The total weight loss of all those who weighed-out equalled about 1.3 HIMAs this year. Along with the hare and the weight changers, highlights of ceremonies included BEARABOOBS and STROKES for FRB, while SHOWME was hash shit for taking the shortcutting walkers route but actually running it. ROAD BEATER and SLOW HAND got JFL for their leadership at the backcheck. Finally CO CO and HEAVE HO were nailed for whining about the mud on the trail.
