The 2007 Black Earth 2 & 10 Mile Road Race
MEAN BEAVER once again was Race Director for the Annual Black Earth 2 and 10 Mile Road Race. The temperature was cool and there was a tremendous wind blowing in both directions. There were only 128 runners this year (225 last year) probably due to the less-than-perfect weather and that other thing going on at the same time, the 100K. As usual, the volunteers and some runners went to the Shack on Main Street for the post run festivities. But the fun didn't end there. Since there was no hash run later in the day (therefore nothing to do) the party eventually moved to the PIP and PIP SQUEAK Hashtravaganza (see next article). Thanks to MEAN BEAVER, all the runners and volunteers for another successful event!!!

HASH PARTY HISTORY - PIP & CLIT Birthday Party
The PIPstravaganza:
PIP and PIP SQUEAK (the hasher formerly known as CLITIGATOR) hosted a hash bash for their joint birthdays and PIP's retirement party at the Atwood Community Center. The party started with a professional DJ, a keg of beer and a potluck dinner, then gradually spiraled into a condensed version of hash ceremonies. First the celebrating PIPs did down-downs, followed by the wretched excessers who ran the Black Earth Race earlier that day. They were followed by those involved the gazillion mile (100K) run, followed by those who volunteered as enablers of any of these events. After another round for the PIPs, the stage was set for the evening entertainment. First up were the PIPs doing a rendition of "The Apple Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree" assisted by POUPON EYE the French waiter. They were followed by the Booze Brothers, Joliet JakeNUT and Elwood BEERNUTS (direct from their world tour) who showed that "Everybody Needs Somebody." Then several "well suited gentlemen" took the stage (COL MUSTARD, DRIBBLES and POOP EYE) to back up the PIPs for a negligee laced version of "Hey Big Spender." Part way through this, "Big Spender" Uncle ABR Sam glided across the stage with a giant check from Uncle Sam for payment to Iraq. The PIPs held the stage as the music went into "I am a W-O-M-A-N" then quickly into "Wild Thing" as a skeleton headed, EGG biker BEATER joined them for a dance with a bottle of Tatoo. The finale included the whole cast inviting everyone to dance late into the evening. It was a great party and everyone agreed that we should do this more often since we have way more than enough hashers getting older and retiring.
