HASH HISTORY - HASH RUN #1587 - HEAVE HO w/ Short Bus

HEAVE HO and SHORT BUS timed of their run to carefully wrap around the Packers/Seasqauk playoff game. About 30 hashers, including seldom seen TURD IN HAND, showed up at the Military Ridge trailhead east of Verona at 2:00 in the afternoon to complete this run in time for the 3:30 kickoff. The hares co-opted READY to help set trail since his preferred NFL team, the Minnesota ViQueens, have a bye until next season. The pack took off cross country, following the bright red/pink flour over a frozen bog, then under the highway to a beer check on the other side. SHORT BUS was waiting with a home packaged, pressurized cylinder of Imperial Stout IPA. Possibly the best this reporter has ever had. Imagine a dark combination of Bells Two-Hearted and Spotted Cow. To quote Homer Simpson, "M-m-m-m, b-e-e-e-r!" From here the trail headed into Badger Prairie Park, up and over the big hill, and down to another good beer check at the shelter. From there it was back into town, onto the bike trail and back to the start. Everyone immediately got into their cars and frantically headed in just about every direction to make it to Gray's Tied House for the On-On Kick-Off. One group, eschewing the directions of others, followed ORAL DEATH when they thought they overheard someone mentioning that they thought ORAL DEATH knew exactly where to go. After a trip that totally circumnavigated, then subdivided the Verona metroplex, this group broke apart and at one point there were four hashers at a four-way stop, all going in different directions. Eventually everyone made it to the On-On where they found a private room and many hashers who didn't run watching the Packers on a big screen TV, down by 14 points... and good food and plenty of great Gray's beer. Ceremonies were conducted under high pressure to fit in during commercial breaks, and with the knowledge that all the hash hoopla had to be finished by halftime. After that, the gang moved down to the public area and continued drinking and watching the Pack come back... to victory over the Seafowls. After the game, just when everyone thought the evening was over, about 6:30, word went out that there was a gathering for the next playoff game at the home of a friend of UNDERTOKER's. About a dozen hashers showed up at Just Lisa's house for more beer and football. That game was over around 9:30 so there was still time to do something else for the evening. This all seems to prove that "the earlier you start to hash, the more time you have in the day for fun."
