HASH HISTORY - HASH RUN #1592 - Roadbeater/ Ready Birthday

For those who long for simpler times... Roadbeater and Ready had a run. It started in Warner Park. It was a good run. After the run, we ate food at Roadbeater's house. It was good food. And we had ceremonies. They were good ceremonies.

For those with at least half-a-mind... About 25 hashers showed for ROADBEATER's birthday run that started at Warner Park. READY was RB's cohare so everyone expected a marathon distance route. The trail headed north out of Warner Park and up the steep hill traversing the Dane County Annex before passing through the urban shiggy behind the office building. As usual for this winter, there was plenty of snow and the wooded trail was only a single foot path so the pack got spread out. The trail continued on streets after the woods, and eventually led to the trailhead of Cherokee Marsh were the hares had a beer check. READY chose the beer for this and it was, quite possibly, the worse beer check beer we've ever had. It was called BEER:30 as in, "Oh look! It's BEER:30 o'clock already!" Since the beer was relatively cold, it's true taste was masked and there were only a few complaints at the time. More on this later. About the time everyone was finishing their beer, a lone hasher, looking a lot like a typically lost DIEGO, was noticed running in the distance. It turned out to be BEER NUTS (again) who got lost (again) when the pack got spread out. This time the pack waited a bit and he was allowed to have a beer, unlike what happened on BARELY's run under similar circumstances when he was judged to be "too late" to have a beer. From the beer check the trail headed almost directly back to start, surprising everyone with a reasonable distance and time. The On-On was nearby at ROADBEATER's house where the hares supplied great food and plenty of beer courtesy of Just Ann (Mrs. Roadbeater). The hash always seems get crazy at RB's house and this was no exception. Ceremonies included the hares, BEER NUTS for his DIEGO-like performance, several birthdays including ROADBEATER, ICUF and SHOW ME, and a late to arrive new boot, Just Joneene. In the spirit of what always seems to happen at RB's hashes, the newsletter notes were left behind or lost before this was written.
