HASH HISTORY - HASH RUN #1600 - The MadWaukee Interhash - Reported by SHOW ME
A lot of Madison Hashers and 3 or 4 Waukesha Hashers including Monsterbator, Ha Shit the Kilt-guy, and the pink-shirted-FRB along with Chicago hasher, It's Too Soft showed up at the Tyrenena Brewery in Lake Mills for the MadWaukee Interhash. Monsterbator and Wet William were the hares. True to his precedent, the weather for Wet Willie's hash was again a powerful wind, driving frozen snow/sleet into our tender, cute faces and our callipygian forms. The hares set the run as brave live hares. The rest of the pack was instructed to give them a 15 minute head-start, but that was cut to more like 12. The hares were in no danger of being caught though, because their first, early evasion totally stumped the group of runners behind them. Pink flour led to a substantial creek but white flour continued from the creek's opposite bank. The befuddled hashers milled around that spot for a long time before deciding on various methods of crossing. Most realized the road, only 100 yards away was a good option. Once across this first barrier, the group became splintered into various small groups. Remember, as everyone knows, live hare = no good trail. The main group found the trail, but a small contingent of Show Me, Rhythm and Bed-Ridden were foolish enough to follow the even more foolish Colonel through a neighborhood that had absolutely no flour. Rhythm and Show Me turned back after a mile and finally found the true trail, but the impetuous Colonel continued on and turned up later in his truck as he auto-hashed the rest of the run. He was able to auto-deliver Bed-Ridden to Zamboner who had run back in search of the lost ones. The pack got pretty spread out with the pink Waukesha shirt well ahead as FRB most of the way. There were two, well-spaced beer checks along the route. The second was on the shores of Mill Lake and one of the brave Waukesha hashers jumped in for a dip. After this the pack broke into a few more groups before everyone eventually made it back to the start. Back at the brewery the pack found some fine micro-brew beers and a deluxe sandwich buffet. Ceremonies were held outside in the April cold, Waukesha-style with a traditional hash circle. Of course this didn't keep the Madison hashers from yakking and not paying attention. Some people got awards, others did not, and we all hurried indoors to begin roistering. This continued well into the night as hashers mixed with the local crowd and danced to the live band. Among the local crowd were former hashers Colonary Crapsman and Wonderspread. To the best of our knowledge everyone made it home without serious incident.
