HASH HISTORY - HASH RUN #1627 - Pirate Run

LOR-R-R-R-RENA CA-A-A-R-R-ROT and BLOW HO HO were the hares for the annual Pirate Run that started on the east side near the Barrymore Theater. About 30 pirates showed up and as usual there were many great outfits. In fact, it seemed that some hashers appeared to have kept their Halloween costumes on all week. Speaking of all week... LORENA conducted and e-mail pirate quiz all week and the winners received their handsome booty at the start of the run. LORENA and BLOW HO always seem to think of every detail and these prizes were quite good... so try harder next year! Along with the usual scurvy wags were seldom seens CAREY and FROGGY. For a bunch of pirates there sure was a lot of primping before the launch. Eventually the pack was off on a trail that headed all over the east side before pausing for a beer check at DRIB's place. Along with beer there was a pirate ship pinata courtesy of MILK BONEHER. After many swings, the ship was crushed and the booty fell to the ground. From there it was a landlubbers trail that followed the lakeshore toward downtown. After some searching, the pirate pack found a ration of rum on the lakeshore near UNDERTOKER's hideout. From there the trail headed back to the start and the On-On in the basement hold of Mr. Roberts. The hares had a keg of grog, great food and treats, and a well stuffed Captain Jack sitting in the corner. Ceremonies included everyone but highlighted the best wenches, which included nearly all the women (and a few guys) and the two hashers dressed most like cabin boys, ZAMBONEHER and COL MUSTARD.
