HASH HISTORY - HASH RUN #1628

Just a small group of hashers showed up for ABR's run in Cross Plains that started at the grocery store parking lot on the east edge of town. Along with co-hare EGGBEATER and a few regulars, there was relative new boot Just Nels who brought Just Carrie Mae, and Just Tomash who has hashed before and who brought Just Jeanie and Just Melanie. It was a cool but pleasant afternoon and most of the runners wore long sleeves. The pack initially took off down the highway back toward Madison before hitting a long back check that took them back to another backcheck near the start. The trail eventually led across a field and through some mild urban shiggy before hitting streets again. There was significant confusion among those trying to follow the trail so much so, that the back of the pack runners were often the FRBs. This was especially true near a downtown church and cemetery where the pack found flour just about everywhere. The pack found the hares on the far side of this block and eventually found there way the On-On at a bar downtown. The hares served great veggie stew with various fixin's and plenty of Essers beer on tap. Ceremonies were conducted in a back room of the bar and everyone in the small group was awarded at least once or more. This was kinda like an old time hash what with finishing in the dark, ending at a bar with a relatively small crowd and almost none of the bar regulars seeming to notice the hash songs. Although there were a few who wanted to join once they did notice... then they heard about the running part...
