HASH HISTORY - HASH RUN #1629 - The Madison Hash 31st Anniversary Run

The Madison Hash 31st Anniversary Run started at the parking lot for the UW Arboretum on Seminole Highway, the site of the very first Madison hash run. DIFFERENT STROKES and MEAN BEAVER were the hares and they greeted the runners with the traditional jug of brandy. After a large group gathered and everyone had several shots of brandy under their belts, STROKES toasted the founders, took some group photos and provided some specific instructions to move quickly over the Arb trails. Seems the hares got caught setting trail by an Arb ranger who questioned them about the trail of flour they seemed to be leaving. The hares responded that they were merely leaving a trail for themselves so they wouldn't get lost trying to find their way back. This apparently sounded just loony enough for the ranger to slowly back away to let the hares continue on their way. The pack took off into the Arb but soon found a backcheck back to the start and onto streets in the area. The trail soon went over the beltline overpass and into Nakoma to a beer check near the bike path next to Odana Golf Course. From there the trail continued on streets to another beercheck near the Nakoma Golf Course, before heading into shiggy at the edge of the Arb. The trails in the Arb were well marked with no diversion per the hares instructions. Eventually most hashers found their ways through the tunnel under the beltline and back to the start. The On-on was back at STROKES house where the hares had great homemade lasagna and plenty of Leinies beer. Everyone noticed, though, to their great dismay, there were none of STROKE's traditional pumpkin pies. Ceremonies provided awards to just about everyone including visitor HEART ON from Minneapolis who also got the STIFFY Father/Son Lookalike Award. Just when we thought things couldn't get any better, seldom seens BABY RUTH and NAIL MARY showed up with their progeny who was promptly named THUMBTACK or DIAPER PIN or SPIKE or something... Nearly all of the hash aunts got a chance to hold and fondle the child, but it all came to a horrible, crashing halt when DRIBS attempted to breast feed the kid. CONGRATULATIONS to NAIL MARY and BABY RUTH!!!
