HASH HISTORY - HASH RUN #1631 - ZAMBONEHER Set Two... Two Runs in One Week
ZAMBONEHER and BED RIDDEN started their run at Lake Side Church parking lot off Buckeye Road on the far east side. About 20 hashers showed up on another cool weather day so jackets, gloves and hats were required. The hares had beer at start for those who arrived early as EGG BEATER tried to auction off his Obama for President yard sign. This run marked the return of RUNNING DISASTER after a slight absence, and one new boot, Just Andrew who found us on his own. ZAMBONEHER provided extensive instructions at the start but no one seemed to listen as his look of consternation quickly turned to understanding when he recalled that this was a hash run. The trail headed immediately into mild shiggy, mild because there were trails. After a good distance the pack emerged from the shiggy, crossed a meadow and headed up an embankment to a railroad bed. There was a long stretch on the tracks before coming out onto roads for a while before once again heading into more shiggy. As the true trail headed further into shaggy, ZAMBONEHER sent a few on a shortcut with instructions to backtrack on the trail for short ways, then continue onward. The SCBs followed the hare's instructions and backtracked on the trail until they found STROKES who got a late start... more on this group later... much later... The true trail eventually came to a creek crossing and then into real shiggy that required marking with TP. Then it was back onto the railroad tracks again before the first beer check along side a pond. From there it was more shiggy to a second beer check and finally to a promised shot check. It was in this muddled state that someone finally noticed that the shortcutters were nowhere to be found. It was getting dark so the main pack finished out and headed to ZAMBONEHER's house for the On-On.... Meanwhile... back with the shortcutters... after following the hare's instructions to back track through a certain number of marks and head down the tracks to find the first beer check, the SCBs did so, they successfully found more hash trail but didn't find a beer check. They checked every possible trail thoroughly and stayed on the marks for nearly an hour until it got dark... then gave up and headed back to cars where they found SHOW ME who guided them to ZAMBONEHER's house for the On-On. The hares had plenty of good food including marinated chicken, veggie squash curry and enough desert bars to, in the words of EGG, "supply the local Lutheran bake sale." There was a Badger vs. Minnesota football game on the TV so ceremonies waited for the outcome of the competition over the Paul Bunyan's Ax. ZAMBONEHER took advantage of this to go for more beer (he collected the left over beer check beer for ceremonies). The Badgers won so CO CO and COWPOKER conducted ceremonies. The awards began with the hares and FRBs, MR RHYTHM and READY. Then things quickly moved onto the SCBs and JFLs STROKES, WILL HO & NUTFARMER who eventually figured out they were following the Full Moon Hash trail set by ZAMBONEHER earlier in the week... SCB mystery solved!!! DRIBS, BEER NUTS, EGG and RTG were cited for hash shit for not helping COL MUSTARD when he fell in the creek, and whining to BEAR A BOOBS and SHOW ME who thought the true trail was kinda long. RD and AH were awarded as seldom seens and new boot Just Andrew was treated to a look at our butts. Finally DFL went to LUCY BALLS and STAIR MASTER, and CO CO and COWPOKEY were recognized for leading ceremonies.
