HASH HISTORY - HASH RUN #1638 - The First Saturday Hash Run of 2009 and The Annual Hash Weight Change Weigh-In
Bad weather was threatening, with an ice storm predicted, but it held off for the first part of BEARABOOBS run that started at Baxter Park near her house. This was to be the hash weight change contest weigh-in and BEARBOOBS took this run date that no one else could host. It was actually a triple team with assistance from SHOW ME and NUTFARMER who was still out setting trail when the run started. It had been warmer and sunny earlier in the day but the temperature was dropping, and black ice was forming everywhere for the 20 or so hashers who showed up for the run. The trail headed north on streets from the park and onto some good backchecks and false trails before heading around the mysterious wildlife area north of Moorland Road. The "eagle" runners followed a shiggified trail around the south side of Nob Hill while the "turkey" pack stayed on streets. The two rejoined just east of the WEAC complex and headed onto the Capital City bike trail where they found the first beer check buried in the snow. The weather was deteriorating so the pack moved on to the second beer check at the ever reliable Farm Tavern. It's always hard to leave The Farm but eventually everyone headed back to the start and on to BEARBOOBS' house. BB served her special mac and cheese and had plenty of beer for the weight changers to bulk up. Many of the usual suspects entered the weight change contest while ceremonies were prepared, and after extracting a small crowd from the garage hot tub, ceremonies were conducted. Nearly everyone with comfortable seating was recognized and highlights included the hares, MS 'D ERECTION the heaviest of the heavy weights, LIKES IT's frilly bloomers, and NUTFARMER for taking a spectacular fall while setting trail. The usual chaos ensued as things progressed (and by progressed we mean regressed) well into the evening. But in the end, there was only a small crowd left to carry on in the hot tub after many left due to the predicted ice storm. Thanks to BEARABOOBS for taking this unwanted run!!!
