HASH HISTORY - HASH RUN #1647
Seldom Seens FUZE BLOWER and WIRE NUTZ started their hash run at Rubins on Monona Drive. The weather was awful for a run with cold temperatures and a heavy rain falling at start time. As the pack waited under makeshift shelters formed by holding tarps overhead, a few hashers decided to bail out and just wait for the On-On. But a hearty pack of 15 or so took off on the trail that headed east from the start and made a big loop toward a small bar on Cottage Grove Road. It was here that JFL STROKES and DFL NUTFARMER finally found the pack after arriving a bit late for the start. NUT was driving around trying to find the group when he found STROKES running on his own toward McFarland. From this beer check the trail headed back to Monona Drive for another beer check at the party basement of the even more seldom seens SAMMI and PUPPY where there was a mighty fine beer on tap. As usual, there was tremendous momentum to just stay at bar in the basement, but eventually the pack finished the trail and headed to the party garage for the On-On. FUZE and WIRE always do a great job of entertaining so there was plenty chili and brats, and lots of beer. As the crowd arrived they were joined by many hashers who didn't run, and some FUZE and WIRE's relatives including FUZE's mom and her brother who once ran a red dress run with us. Nearly everyone was awarded a down-down during ceremonies including many of the seldom seens and nonrunners, and new boots Just Sam who was made come by BLOW HOLE and Just Mr. Neighbor who lives across the street from the party garage. At the height the activities, the party garage seemed packed and the hot tub was overflowing just like the old days. It was good to see all the seldom seens and the regulars were at least tolerable.
