HASH HISTORY - HASH RUN #1663 - RED DRESS
The Red Dress Run always draws a big crowd and this was no different. Despite the predicted bad weather, and the early cancellation of Rhythm and Boomers, over forty red dress hashers showed up at Lerdahl Park on the north side of town. Most were already dressed in their finest red dresses but several had to get changed on site. Despite all preparations, most had a significant amount of primping to do so the run got launched a little late. As usual, there were several new boots and seldom seens, almost too many to mention... but not quite, so consider yourselves mentioned. RTG was the hare and as good fortune would have it, he was able to fit a keg of beer in the back of his Aztec. And as everyone knows, where there's beer, there's men in red dresses. The trail headed around the local streets where there was a tremendous outpouring of homeowners with cancelled parties handing out beer. This was good since the first beer check was at least a mile into the run. After a good rest and use of the shaggy plumbing, the trail led across Northport Drive and around the neighborhood through the wooded shiggy parkland leading to a second beer check at the big county office on the big hill. This was even a better beer location since the trail HAD to be downhill from there. Sure enough, the trail headed down the big hill and through the nearly empty park, to the midway area where the pack found at least a few spectators. After everyone regrouped, the pack terrorized children on the tea cup ride before heading toward the Mallards baseball field. There was a game scheduled and the stands were packed. After a significant bribe, the gatekeepers allowed the hash entrance for a run through the stands and out the back side of the park... where they found FUZEBLOWER in civilian garb acting as though she was just another baseball fan... sitting in the beer garden. From there the pack headed out of the park, posed for a photo with an on duty gendarme, then headed north to the On-On at TRAILER TRASH's house. The hares provided plenty of great food prepared by STAIR MASTER and plenty of beer from the keg. The bad weather held off so there was a complete round of ceremonies led by COCO and COWPOKER. Pretty much everyone got an award as the evening wore on. After ceremonies, the group on the lawn was terrorized by incoming pyrotechnics set off by the neighborhood kids.
